During fashion week, we spend a lot of time talking about the proposals and offers of the collections on show. But in a fashion climate with more options than ever, increasingly more brands are aimed towards specific clienteles. You can apply this view to Giambattista Valli – whose customer isn’t dissimilar to Vaccarello’s: the wealthy jet-set youth, who want fabulous and fun fashion.

Valli’s collection on Monday afternoon provided them with all the floral oversized blazers, weightless ruffled French country dresses and generously plumed heels they could wish for. To a soundtrack of whispered words, his bohemian rhapsody unfolded in full bloom in all the little dresses he knows those girls will be looking for. There were sea shell-hemmed skirts, full skirts in dotted plissé tulle, and mini dresses constructed in patchworks of leopard and lace. For those cold nights on the yacht, how about a wool coat in snakeskin print? Valli knows his customer better she knows herself, and this collection was a walk in the park for him.
